✨Experience the magic of Día de los Muertos in Oaxaca from the very beginning, as families prepare their homes to welcome loved ones back.✨
Sunday, 1st November
11:00 am - 6:00 pm
Experience the arrival of the souls through time spent with one family as they welcome their loved ones.
In Teotitlán del Valle, the rhythm of the day builds toward the afternoon, when families receive their loved ones at the altar. You’ll spend the day with an En Vía woman entrepreneur. The day moves between time in the home and visitas, as families travel through the community to visit other altars and share offerings
Teotitlán del Valle, known as the “Land of the Gods,” is widely recognised for its weaving traditions that continue to shape daily life. Families combine artisan work with household and community responsibilities, maintaining strong links between tradition and present-day life.
This experience offers a balanced view of the day, combining time in the home with the wider life of the community.
Our Day of the Dead tours offer an intimate and authentic cultural exchange, centred on one woman, her family, and her community. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, the experience moves with the natural rhythm of the day.
