✨Experience the magic of Día de los Muertos in Oaxaca from the very beginning, as families prepare their homes to welcome loved ones back.✨
Sunday, 1st November
9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Experience the arrival of the souls in a community where tradition and daily life remain deeply connected.
In Santa Ana del Valle, you’ll spend the day with an En Vía woman entrepreneur as families gather around the altar to welcome their loved ones. The day moves between time in the home and visitas, as families open their doors to one another.
Santa Ana del Valle is known for its wool weaving traditions and its strong commitment to preserving cultural heritage, including its community museum and local practices. These traditions form the backdrop to how Día de los Muertos is lived.
As the souls arrive, you’ll witness how offerings, food, and shared time come together to create a space of remembrance and connection.
Our Day of the Dead tours offer an intimate and authentic cultural exchange, centred on one woman, her family, and her community. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, the experience moves with the natural rhythm of the day.
