Experience the build-up to Día de los Muertos as families prepare their homes and altars in the hours leading up to the arrival of the souls.

In San Miguel del Valle, you’ll be welcomed into the home of an En Vía woman entrepreneur and spend the day as preparations take shape across both household and community life. This is a moment of setting up altars, preparing offerings, and organising the spaces where loved ones will soon be received.

The day moves between time in the home and the wider community, where preparations continue at a steady rhythm. As you spend the day with your host, you’ll gain insight into how these preparations are lived—not as a performance, but as a deeply rooted family practice passed through generations.

In San Miguel del Valle many women are embroidery artists, and the community is known for its vibrant, richly detailed clothing—an expression of identity and heritage.

Our Day of the Dead tours offer an intimate and authentic cultural exchange, centred on one woman, her family, and her community. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, the experience moves with the natural rhythm of the day, allowing traditions to unfold as they are lived.

All tour fees directly support En Vía’s interest-free loans and business education programs for women entrepreneurs.

CANCELATION POLICY

All Day of the Dead experiences with Fundación En Vía are non-refundable and non-transferable once confirmed.

Due to the nature of the celebrations, coordination with participating families, and very limited spaces, we are unable to offer refunds or changes.

Waitlist bookings: 100% payment is required at booking.

Public bookings: 50% deposit at booking, 50% before the experience.
